Why keep a Food Storage?  Purchasing and maintaining a food storage is not just for those concerned with global or national catastrophes.

I don’t find myself preparing for the end of the world or the next world war.  There are far more likely scenarios that could occur in the home that would put good use to a home food storage.

Unemployment or economic recession are too very real threats to each American family.  While it is hard to think of these things when life is good, it’s important that we prepare for it during times of good fortune.

A food storage provides many opportunities to save at a future time.   Have you ever been at the end of a busy day and find yourself without an essential ingredient to the dinner you planned?  Nobody wants to go out at that point to purchase one item.

So, you’re left with two choices, waste gas and go out for the one item, or order fast food to be delivered to the home.  Either decision will waste money.

Food storage gives you another option.  You can shop your food storage at any time.  Keeping non-food items on hand ensures you are never out of toilet paper.

I’ve spent a lot of time researching caloric and nutritional intake for a family of four for three months. Even though it was a lot of work, I found it entertaining and fun.

The link at the bottom will take you to the list of recommended items to keep in your food storage.  You may need to adjust quantities depending on how many people are in your family.

There is also a list of non-food items to keep in a food storage as well.  You can link to that at the bottom of this page too.

If you have any questions or suggestions I’d love to hear them.
